Communication is Key

Sunday is our annual congregational meeting. While some might roll their eyes and complain about staying late for a meeting, I encourage you to consider its purpose. I've been there too, and I understand how these things can sometimes feel dry and tedious. However, let's delve deeper into why we gather.

I believe in transparent communication. We have no secrets. The church's agenda and how we use our funds are crystal clear: to make Jesus known.

Our mission is simple. Cascade Christian Reformed Church is

Committed to Christ.
Connecting to Others.
Caring for our Community.

How can you pray for the church if you don't know who the elders and deacons are? How can you assess your stewardship and giving if you're unsure where the money goes? Why would you volunteer if you weren't sure it's a good use of your time?

Congregational meetings foster accountability and a sense of mission.

There’s something wonderful about the local church. It’s an odd and clunky institution filled with misfits, broken people, and amazing saints. I believe that the church is the hope of the world. Every church, big and little, has a giant role in God’s kingdom.

Looking back over the past year, I am humbled by the ways we've helped those in need: the homeless, the disenfranchised, and those who grieve or face life transitions. Queen It’s a New Day. Partnering with Shoultes Elementary. Record-breaking Easter Egg Hunts filled with kids from our community. We are making a difference.

Beyond those events, we gather weekly to worship and learn about the true and living God, who died for our sins. It's awe-inspiring to know that God uses the foolishness of preaching to reveal his glory. Our humble songs and services somehow showcase his boundless love.

I am honored to be your pastor and look forward to another year of serving alongside you. This Sunday, please consider staying a little longer. Learn how to pray for your church, discover opportunities to serve, and perhaps explore ways to increase support financially. Most importantly, let's unite as God's church to glorify Him.

With You
